COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Firefighters have extinguished a small grass fire in a southern Colorado cemetery, but it wasn’t immediately known if any headstones were damaged.

KKTV reports (https://bit.ly/2nucbJU ) the fire burned between 4 and 5 acres (1.5 and 2 hectares) in the Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs Saturday night.

Fire Battalion Chief Jess Kruckleberg says it was dark when crews put out the fire and they couldn’t see the extent of the damage. He said officials planned to return to the cemetery on Sunday.

The fire burned in grass up to 18 inches tall and in pockets of scrub oak. No structures were threatened.

The cause was under investigation.
