CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - A Charlotte police officer has been arrested on several charges related to a domestic violence disturbance.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said in a news release Sunday that officers responded to the scene early Sunday.

The department says that officer Kevin Marin, who’s 25, assaulted his girlfriend during an argument. He’s been charged with multiple counts of assault and other charges.

Marin joined the department in 2015.

The department didn’t have information on whether Marin had a lawyer who could comment. A phone listing for Marin rang disconnected.
