PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - A Florida Panhandle man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for causing a fatal crash where he was driving nearly three times the posted speed limit.

The Pensacola News Journal (https://goo.gl/qrEIQP) reports that 33-year-old Darrel Earl Daise was sentenced Thursday after being convicted of manslaughter and other charges.

Authorities say Daise was traveling 70 miles per hour in a 25-mile-per-hour area in February 2016 when he ran a red light and crashed into two other vehicles. The crash killed one woman and injured another.

After the crash, investigators found two bags of cocaine, a bottle of prescription drug syrup and drug paraphernalia in Daise’s car.
