WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - Motorists using the bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway at Wrightsville Beach are being told to expect delays beginning April 10.
The N.C. Department of Transportation says the bridge will be closed intermittently to allow staff to inspect various sections. The Federal Highway Administration requires bridges to be inspected every two years
The lane closures will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday and end each day by 4 p.m. until the work is completed on April 12. One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction.
There will be no detour route, but travelers should expect delays.
