WASBURN, Mo. (AP) - A southwest Missouri sheriff’s deputy has died after his patrol car collided with a school bus while he was responding to a call.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 56-year-old Carl Cosper, a Barry County deputy, died Friday in the accident on Missouri 37 a half-mile south of Washburn.
The patrol’s report says the school bus made a left turn into the path of Cosper’s car.
No children were on the school bus. The driver was not injured.
The sheriff’s office says Cosper, of Pineville, was heading to a domestic call near Seligman when the accident occurred.
