SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A Utah teenager accused of stabbing five classmates in an Orem high school locker room has been charged with one count of attempted aggravated murder in adult court as part of a plea deal he accepted earlier this week.

Prosecutors filed the charge Thursday against 16-year-old Luke Dollahite.

Dollahite didn’t speak during the Tuesday plea deal hearing. His parents said they are sorry and that their son has mental illness. His attorney was not available for comment Thursday.

The Associated Press did not previously name the boy because of his age, but it is now using his name because he has been charged as an adult.

Dollahite is currently serving time in juvenile justice facility after pleading guilty to four counts in juvenile court. He is expected to serve time later in adult prison.

The stabbing victims survived.
