LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A man who was wanted by police and the U.S. Marshals Service has been fatally shot by authorities during a confrontation at a Little Rock hotel.
The man was located in a stolen car in the parking lot of the Extended Stay America Hotel Wednesday. He was wanted on multiple felony warrants for auto theft, breaking and entering, and drug charges.
Officers say they began to open fire after the man allegedly rammed the vehicle through another car passing through the lot before attempting to ram a police car.
The man was pronounced dead at a hospital. Authorities say they won’t release the name of the man at this time.
The officer who fatally shot the man has been placed on administrative leave following standard procedure. This is the third fatal shooting by a Little Rock officer this year.
