ASHVILLE, Ala. (AP) - A driver and a child have been killed in a head-on collision involving two vehicles.

The Gadsden Times reports (https://bit.ly/2n8lj6R ) Alabama State Troopers say 41-year-old Michael Jerome Jones of Springville died in the crash Monday morning on U.S. 231, just south of Ashville.

A 3-year-old and 12-year-old in Jones’ vehicle were taken to a hospital, where the toddler died. No word yet on the condition of the other child.



Authorities say Jones was travelling down the roadway when he crashed into a car driven by 36-year-old Kevin Wayne Isbell of Ashville. Isbell wasn’t hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
