SHELTON, Wash. (AP) - Officials say a Washington property owner who is accused of killing an educator has not been charged in the court.

The Kitsap Sun reports Monday (https://bit.ly/2o5NDGv ) that the man who died was a paraeducator in the Northshore School District and had been in the area visiting his mother.

Northshore School District Superintendent Michelle Reid said in a statement that 31-year-old Nathanial Rosa was a compassionate and dedicated educator who made a difference in the lives of his students.

59-year-old Bruce Fanning was arrested on suspicion of murder Saturday after he called 911 to report he had shot Rosa who he says trespassed into his property. Fanning says he shot Rosa three times through a shower curtain after believing he was drunk.

Fanning’s bail was set to $250,000 Monday.
