LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - An annual event celebrating the life of the Louisville-born journalist Hunter S. Thompson will be at the downtown library later this month.
GonzoFest will be held on Saturday April 15 at the Louisville Free Public Library. The event will feature two panel discussions, music and a screening of film about Thompson’s life.
The panel discussions will look at Thompson’s literary impact and politics, one of Thompson’s favorite subjects.
Thompson is best known for writing the 1972 book “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,” and his take on the Kentucky Derby, “The Kentucky Derby is Decadent and Depraved.”
GonzoFest will also feature an all-local music lineup with Nellie Pearl, Otis Junior, Brother Wolves, Satellite Twin, Brooks Ritter, and Sativa Gumbo. For more information, visit GonzoFestLou.com.
