HERMISTON, Ore. (AP) - Hermiston police say a bicyclist died when he was struck by a semi-truck.

Chief Jason Edmiston says the collision happened Monday night at the intersection of Highway 395 and East Elm Avenue. He says the truck driver was turning right at the time, and didn’t stop until police caught up with him near the Washington state line.

The chief says the intersection is under video surveillance because of its dangers, and the collision was partially captured. He says police will review the footage and other evidence before presenting the information to the district attorney’s office.

The bicyclist died at the scene. Edmiston identified him as a 55-year-old man from Hermiston.
