CONCORD, New Hampshire (AP) - The real estate market is picking up in New Hampshire, where houses are selling the same week they’re listed and some buyers are offering $10,000 above the asking price.

The Concord Monitor (https://bit.ly/2oV2AIc ) reports there is a historically low inventory of homes in the state. That means houses are going quickly, often with multiple offers.

There were more than 12,000 single-family homes for sale statewide at the end of March 2012. That figure had shrunk by nearly two thirds by the end of last month. The change from 2016 to 2017 was a decrease of more than 30 percent.

New construction isn’t filling the void. The president of the New Hampshire Association of Realtors says it’s happening at a level one-fifth of what’s needed.
