HAMPSTEAD, NH (AP) - Authorities say a 10-year-old boy suffered injuries in an all-terrain vehicle accident while riding on a state recreational trail.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department says the boy and his father were riding on the Rockingham Recreational Trail in Hampstead when the accident happened around 2:30 p.m. Friday.

The boy, who is from Hooksett, was taken to a hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities say he was wearing proper riding gear and it appears the accident was caused by his inexperience handling the ATV.
