EPHRATA, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania high school student is in critical condition after he fell from a friend’s moving car.

Police in Ephrata say 17-year-old Brendan Holbritter suffered a significant head injury on April 21. As of Tuesday, he was still in critical condition.

Police say he had been sitting on the back of a friend’s car while it was in motion. Ephrata Police Lt. Chris McKim says it does not appear that the vehicle was moving at high speed when he fell.

A release from the Ephrata School District says guidance counselors are being made available to talk to students.
