ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man whose body was found lying in the middle of a street by officers.
Officials an officer on patrol in the city’s 19th Ward neighborhood heard gunshots around 7:20 p.m. Tuesday on Flanders Street. Police say when officers arrived on the scene they found a 27-year-old man dead from at least one gunshot to his torso.
Police say the victim’s family has been notified but his name hasn’t been released.
Officials say there was an altercation in the street before the gunfire.
No arrests have been reported.
