GARDNERVILLE, Nev. (AP) - A head-on collision between a car and a semi-trailer truck on U.S. Highway 395 south of Gardnerville has killed one person and shut down the highway in both directions.

The crash was reported at about 9:30 a.m. Monday about 10 miles south of Gardnerville and 10 miles north of Topaz Lake.

The person who died was in the sedan.

The driver of the semi refused medical treatment.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says crews stopped a fuel leak from the truck. It’s not clear when the highway will reopen.
