HONOLULU (AP) - A 36-year-old man has died after two motorcycles collided near Sandy Beach on Oahu.

Police say the Waianae man was headed west on Kalanianaole Highway on Saturday when his motorcycle crashed into another motorcycle that had stopped in front of him. He and the two people on the other motorcycle were thrown from their vehicles onto the roadway.

The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died.

The two others involved in the crash, a man and a woman, were hospitalized in serious but stable condition.

Police say speed and alcohol are not believed to have been factors in the crash.

The Saturday incident marked the 12th traffic-related fatality of the year on Oahu, compared with 13 at the same time last year.
