PITTSBURGH (AP) - Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a smoky fire destroyed a row of three vacant buildings in Pittsburgh, but no injuries were reported.
The city’s public safety department said the blaze in the Mount Washington neighborhood was reported at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
More than 75 firefighters were called to battle the flames. Public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler said told residents to keep doors and windows closed “because there’s so much smoke.”
The cause of the fire is being sought. Toler said the department’s arson unit is in charge of the investigation.
Public works crews are to place barricades around the site to keep people out of harm’s way, and crews will begin clearing the debris Monday.
