KIRKLAND, Wash. (AP) - One person has been transported to a hospital with burns following an early morning fire in western Washington state that damaged 12 apartments.

KOMO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2p72pNH) that firefighters responded at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday to the fire in Kirkland.

Officials say the fire gutted eight of the apartments and that four bottom apartments have heavy water damage.



Investigators haven’t determined the cause of the fire, but it’s not believed to be suspicious.

The name of the person sent the hospital or the person’s condition hasn’t been released.
