ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) - An Alexandria woman has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol in a collision that left a 62-year-old man dead.
The Alexandria Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office says 25-year-old Kyeshia Arrington entered the plea Thursday.
Authorities say Arrington was driving with a blood-alcohol content well above the legal limit in October when she struck Alexandria resident Peter Palm, who was crossing a street.
Palm was hospitalized and died of his injuries Nov. 19.
Arrington is set for sentencing on July 13, when she will face a maximum penalty of 10 years for the involuntary manslaughter charge and one year for the DUI.
Her license to drive in Virginia will be revoked indefinitely as a result of the involuntary manslaughter conviction.
