PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say a man driving near Roosevelt Boulevard in northeast Philadelphia was shot and killed by another driver.

Investigators say the man was heading east on Summerdale Avenue toward the boulevard at about 6 a.m. Sunday and had stopped at a light when a driver in a white Cadillac pulled alongside him and opened fire.

The 39-year-old man was hit in the head and neck and swerved across lanes of the boulevard before crashing into a fence near a hospital. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name wasn’t immediately released.

The other car fled south on the boulevard. No arrests were immediately announced and a motive wasn’t immediately clear.
