NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Fire officials in New Jersey are investigating a fire that destroyed a five-story building.

NJ.com reports (https://bit.ly/2oHmnOj ) that the fire happened at a mixed-use building in Newark around 7:30 p.m. Monday. The blaze was contained after two hours.

Authorities say one firefighter was treated for minor injuries.



Red Cross officials say 32 residents from the complex were taken to nearby shelters.

Officials believe the fire started on the building’s top floor. An investigation is ongoing.
