Variety magazine is putting a familiar face on one of its “Power of Women” covers due to hit newsstands Wednesday: Chelsea Clinton.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s daughter will appear on one of six special covers put out by the entertainment-news magazine to showcase influential women. The other five honored women are actresses Jessica Chastain and Blake Lively, journalist Gayle King, Broadway star Audra McDonald and media executive Shari Redstone.
“How cool does Chelsea Clinton look on our Power of Women, NY, cover?
Read her great interview with @RaminSetoodeh in tomorrow’s issue!” co-Editor-in-Chief Claudia Eller tweeted Tuesday.
The announcement comes just days before Chelsea is honored by Variety and Lifetime Network with a “Lifetime Impact” award for humanitarian work.
The tribute, titled “The Power of Women: New York,” is scheduled for Friday.
“At the heart of New York City is a vibrant community of strong women in entertainment, media, and politics whose commitment to philanthropy is inspirational,” said Michelle Sobrino Stearns, Group Publisher/Chief Revenue Officer of Variety, in a statement released March 20. “We are delighted to be celebrating these women along with the women profiled in our annual New York Women’s Impact List with our partners at Lifetime.”
