WILLOW SPRINGS, N.C. (AP) - Hundreds lost power after a car crashed into a power pole in Wake County.

News outlets report that emergency crews responded Sunday to an overturned vehicle that struck a pole at around 8 p.m. The crews say multiple power lines had been knocked down and caught fire.

More than 1,000 homes were affected by the outage, including an estimated 666 customers in Wake County and 40 customers in Johnston County as of 6 a.m. Monday.



Police did not release details about the cause of the crash or the condition of the driver.
