Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s recent comments during Passover regarding Adolf Hitler, Syrian leader Bashar Assad and poison gas were totally insensitive and inexcusable (“Sean Spicer: I ’let the president down’ with Hitler-Assad comments,” Web, April 12).

Hitler’s atrocious mass gassing of Jews during the Holocaust was an evil, anti-Christ-like act that displayed man’s inhumanity to man. Assad’s horrific chemical warfare and sarin-gas airstrike atrocities against his own broken, battered and bruised people were a clear act of pure evil by a government leader.

President Trump’s current course of mass deportation, Muslim travel bans, mass cancellation of health care for the poor, demolishment of much-needed programs (such as Meals on Wheels, after-school feeding and learning initiatives) are all anti-Christ-like actions that are also uncompassionate and unacceptable for America.
