SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a Shreveport woman has drawn a five-year prison sentence for her part in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy.

Acting U.S. Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook said the sentence was handed down Wednesday for 36-year-old Haylee N. Haigler.

Van Hook’s Friday news release says the sentence followed a January guilty plea.

Prosecutors said Haigler was arrested after she was implicated by her boyfriend when he was arrested in 2016, leading to a search of Haigler’s apartment.

The boyfriend, 36-year-old Lee Edward Watkins, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in January.
