WASHINGTON (AP) - A man was sentenced to three years in prison for trying to sexually assault a hotel housekeeper at knifepoint.
WTOP reports (https://bit.ly/2po0Mce ) that Ernesto Mendoza, 18, was sentenced to three years in jail on Friday for an incident at the Grand Hyatt Washington hotel last year. He’d already pleaded guilty.
The incident occurred on Nov. 26, when Mendoza walked into an open hotel room door, produced a knife and forced the housekeeper into the bedroom where he ordered her to take off her clothes. The two struggled, and the housekeeper was able to get away.
Mendoza ran away but was identified based on surveillance footage.
