FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - A 75-year-old woman died after she was run over twice by a man who authorities say intentionally hit her before driving away.
Maria Ascencio died Friday morning after she was hit on Route 50 and Rugby Road. Fairfax County police say the driver then turned his car around and hit her a second time.
Police arrested Kenan Ozcan and charged him with felony hit and run. He was arrested after police said he assaulted and robbed a woman in a nearby shopping center. When officers arrived they found his car, a Dodge Dart, with damage to the front end. Ozcan is also being charged with robbery.
Police say Ozcan and Ascendio were strangers.
