BEATRICE, Neb. (AP) - The Homestead National Monument is offering a class for anyone interested in learning the basics of bird watching.
The event will be held at 1 p.m. on April 22 at the Homestead National Monument of America’s Education Center near Beatrice.
Park rangers will offer a short introduction to different birds before leading the group on a hike. The class will last about 90 minutes.
Park Superintendent Mark Engler says the activity is a great way to connect with kids while learning about nature.
The monument sits four miles west of Beatrice, along Nebraska Highway 4.
