Trooper hospitalize after being hit during traffic stop

FIFE, Wash. (AP) - Two people, including a Washington State trooper, were taken to the hospital after a crash on Interstate 5.

KIRO-TV reports (https://kiro.tv/2ocAN6p ) that the trooper was conducting a traffic stop at about 6:30 a.m. Friday near Emerald Queen Casino in Fife when his car was hit.

Authorities have not specifically said whether the trooper was inside or outside his patrol car when the crash happened.

Three cars are involved in the crash.
