RENO, Nev. (AP) - The University of Nevada, Reno has hired a former assistant coach to come lead its women’s basketball program.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (https://on.rgj.com/2nJkONS ) that the school hired Amanda Levens on Friday to lead the Wolf Pack. Levens, who was UNR’s assistant coach from 2003 to 2008, has spent the last five seasons as associate head coach at her alma mater Arizona State University.

Levens replaces Jane Albright, who retired last month after nine seasons at Nevada and 33 at the Division I level.



Prior to working at Arizona State, Levens served as head coach at Southern Illinois University, where the school transitioned to Division I under her leadership.
