ANTIOCH, Calif. (AP) - Authorities in Northern California say a driver was killed when he rammed his SUV into the back of a fire truck stopped at the scene of an accident.

The East Bay Times reports Saturday (https://bayareane.ws/2nuI80O ) the man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on eastbound Highway 4 near Antioch.

A Contra Costa Fire Protection District official says a firefighter who was on a fire department ladder truck received minor injuries during the crash Friday night.



Fire marshal Robert Marshall says the ladder truck that was hit was parked behind a fire engine responding to an earlier accident.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating.
