Apple’s official Twitter account accidentally tweeted out details about the new iPhone 7 smartphone Wednesday afternoon prior to its official unveiling at company headquarters in Cupertino, California.
“Briefly shown were iPhone 7 in matte black and iPhone 7 Plus with dual-lens camera in piano black,” AppleInsider.com noted. “Both models are ’water resistant’ and have stereo speakers.”
“Apple pulled [the tweets] just a few minutes after they began spreading around, but they’d racked up thousands of retweets by then,” tech-news site The Verge reported. “The tweets revealed various top line features of the phone, including new colors, water resistance, and a dual camera.”
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will hit stores on Sept. 16.
