BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota’s statewide tundra swan hunting season gets underway this weekend.

The season opens Saturday and concludes Jan. 1. The state Game and Fish Department made 2,200 licenses available earlier this year.

The tundra swan doesn’t nest in North Dakota, but the bird is common during spring and fall migrations.

North Dakota’s two-day special youth pheasant hunting season also is this weekend.
