MECHANIC FALLS, Maine (AP) - The owners of a farm in Mechanic Falls, Maine, where a fatal hayride crash occurred say Pumpkin Land won’t reopen until next year.

The property was sold at auction months ago after the owners filed for bankruptcy following the October 2014 crash that claimed the life of 17-year-old Cassidy Charette and injured more than 20 others.

The former owners of Harvest Hill Farms had hoped to reopen Pumpkin Land this fall, but Anna Bolduc said in a Facebook post that she and her husband are now targeting next year.

David Brown, the driver involved in the crash, was acquitted earlier this week of a reckless conduct charge. But the company and a mechanic still face charges.
