BENTON, Mo. (AP) - Authorities are searching for an inmate who escaped from a southeast Missouri jail.

The Southeast Missourian (https://bit.ly/2cGGL9b ) reports that 31-year-old Joshua Musgrove, of Chaffee, escaped Thursday afternoon when walking back to the Scott County Jail after a court appearance.

The sheriff’s office said in a news release that he should be considered dangerous. He faces charges that included first-degree assault, felonious restraint and rape. Anyone with information is urged to call authorities.
