Phoenix police: Man found dead in his home had been shot

PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a man has been found dead in this home, the victim of a gunshot wound.

Sgt. Mercedes Fortune says the man’s body was found Wednesday night during a welfare check requested by a neighbor.

Fortune says police were told the man hadn’t been seen for a couple of days.

The home is near South 10th Avenue and West Buckeye Road.
