ESSEX, Md. (AP) - A Baltimore County high school student is being charged as an adult after pointing a gun at a classmate.

Police say the suspect and the victim are both students at Kenwood High School. Police say the suspect, who is 16, got into an argument with a fellow student and pulled a gun from his backpack after the two were dropped off by the school bus at Elm Drive and Wilson Point Road on Friday at about 3:45 p.m.

Police say they recovered a .45-caliber handgun. Nobody was injured during the confrontation.

He faces assault and other charges and has been released on a 100,000 bail. The Associated Press is not identifying the suspect because of his age.
