WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts man has been convicted of first-degree murder in the 2013 robbery and shooting death of another man.
The Worcester District Attorney’s office says 30-year-old Dinkue Brown, of Fitchburg, was found guilty Thursday by a Worcester Superior Court jury. He faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 14.
Prosecutors say Brown devised a plan to have a colleague rob Luis Rodriguez on June 21, 2013, in Rodriguez’s Fitchburg apartment. The colleague, Dax Gibson, shot and killed Rodriguez during the robbery. Rodriguez was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.
Brown fled to Richmond, Indiana, where he was arrested about a month after the slaying.
Gibson was convicted in February of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
