PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a Phoenix man is accused of manslaughter after he allegedly caused a fatal car crash last weekend.
Bond was set at $500,000 for 30-year-old Kyle Fabsitz at his initial court appearance Thursday. He doesn’t have an attorney yet.
Court documents state that Fabsitz was driving Sunday night near 27th and Northern avenues when his vehicle collided with a car driven by Christopher Simpson.
Authorities say Simpson was extricated from his vehicle and died early Monday at a Phoenix hospital.
Witnesses say Fabsitz was driving well above the posted speed limit of 40 mph.
Fabsitz was taken to a hospital where a sample of his blood was drawn.
According to court records, the blood test indicated Fabsitz had drugs in his system at the time of the fatal crash.
