PHOENIX (AP) - A 44-year-old man accused of deliberately plowing his car into three Phoenix police officers on Sept. 13 has pleaded not guilty to multiple felony charges.
Marc Laquon Payne entered the plea Thursday during a brief appearance in in Maricopa County Superior Court where he faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, criminal damage, resisting arrest, endangerment and two types of aggravated assault.
Police have said Payne sped across the parking of a convenience store, seriously injured two officers. A third officer jumped out of the way but suffered minor injuries attempting to arrest Payne.
