OPINION:
When the word “liberal” fell into such universal disrepute, the Democrats sent in “progressive” to pinch hit. Then they admitted a socialist as a contender for their anticipated national rule. Of course, what Democrat- and socialist-led governments worldwide have in common is statist central bureaus, regulations and diktats. That is, oppression.
Shouldn’t truth in branding dictate that we rename the Democrats “oppressive progressives”?
