School officials say a Jose Fernandez high school jersey that hung on the fence at Alonso High School during a candlelight vigil for the Miami Marlins pitcher has gone missing.

Fernandez was killed early Sunday in a boating accident off of the shores of Miami.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, a police report had been filed by with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office said that no video surveillance is available around the area. The jersey was believed to have been taken between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
Baseball coach Landy Faedo is pleading for the return of the jersey.
Mass was said at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church for Fernandez’s funeral.
