CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A former St. Louis-area hockey coach faces 14 years in federal prison on child enticement charges.
Federal prosecutors in St. Louis said Thursday that 39-year-old Ian Mackie of Ballwin was sentenced to 14 years on multiple child enticement charges, including one felony count each of attempted receipt of child pornography and online enticement of a minor.
He pleaded guilty in June.
Prosecutors say he used social media, email and text messages to communicate and entice two males, ages 13 and 15, to engage in sex acts with him.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports (https://j.mp/2d93hKS ) that Mackie also has to pay more than $36,000 toward counseling for both victims.
He had coached at various locations in the St. Louis area.
