CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - A sales executive from Monmouth County is going to prison for a year and a day for bribing a doctor to refer patients to medical labs that he represented.

A federal judge in Camden on Wednesday also fined 63-year-old Daniel Gilman of Neptune Township $1,000 and entered a forfeiture judgment of $25,000.

Gilman pleaded guilty in June to conspiracy to accept cash bribes.

Prosecutors say the owner of Promed Practice Consultants paid a physician thousands of dollars in return for referrals to two companies that Gilman represented. The companies had no knowledge of the scheme.
