NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut man who beat his girlfriend to death while apparently under the influence of angel dust has been sentenced to 33 years in prison.
The New Haven Register (https://bit.ly/2cB5o6V ) reports that 39-year-old Frank Moore pleaded guilty to a murder charge rather than risk a longer sentence if convicted at trial.
Authorities say Moore beat 31-year-old Georgette Alston in the apartment they shared in June 2013.
Police responded to the home after getting a phone call from someone who said a man he knew from church named Frank had called and told him he had killed his girlfriend.
Police say Moore had blood all over his clothes and a broken hand.
Moore told police he did not remember beating Alston because he had blacked out after taking angel dust.
