JACKSON, Mo. (AP) - A southeast Missouri man has pleaded guilty to nine counts of financial exploitation of the elderly and stealing by deceit.

The Southeast Missourian (https://bit.ly/2dkhndI ) reports that 55-year-old Keith Lars Monia of Cape Girardeau faces sentencing Oct. 31. As part of a plea agreement, he could face up to 30 years in prison.

Authorities say the nine victims entrusted Monia to invest amounts ranging from $10,000 to $120,000. He pleaded guilty to stealing $517,500.
