Woman dies in apartment fire

JONESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a woman died in a north Florida apartment fire.

The Gainesville Sun (https://goo.gl/DJ3XWp) reports that the fire occurred in Jonesville Monday afternoon.

Alachua County Fire Rescue says black smoke was coming from the rear doorway of the single-story building when firefighters arrived. Rescuers brought the woman out of the home and began CPR. She was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

The state fire marshal’s office is investigating the fire’s cause
