RIDGEVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say that human remains found in a field in Dorchester County have been identified as those of a Ridgeville man reported missing in July.

Local news outlets report that the remains were found Saturday.

Dorchester County Coroner Alice Durr said Monday the remains are those of 61-year-old Marc Godwin Saunders. Authorities won’t know the cause of death until test results are completed.

An incident report says Saunders was reported missing in July by his brother who lives out of state. The brother did not hear from Saunders after he was released from a hospital July 1.
