PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island authorities say a man found at the scene of a car crash last weekend died of a gunshot wound to the head.
Police say the death is now being investigated as a homicide.
The medical examiner’s office on Tuesday identified the victim of the crash early Saturday morning in Pawtucket as 23-year-old Dylan Contreras.
Police say a BMW driven by Contreras crashed into a tree. He was declared dead at the hospital. There were no passengers in the car.
The Pawtucket Times reports that Contreras leaves behind his pregnant fiancee and a 4-year-old daughter. He played football and basketball in high school and was working construction.
